Our Churches

Farnsfield

We are a Methodist community seeking to build the kingdom in Farnsfield. We enjoy a good relationship with the folk from St Michael and All Angels Church of England  in the village, joining together on occasions for Bible study, and praying for each other’s outreach activities in the community. St. Michaels is planning to start a preschool worship time in our building in the near future. We look forward to building and growing this relationship, as we seek opportunities to work together as a Christian presence in Farnsfield. We have recently welcomed the Ompton fellowship as a class of Farnsfield Methodist Church which will benefit and enrich both our churches. We are an accessible church.

Our Sunday morning service is held at 10.15 am, followed by refreshments.

We use the Singing the Faith hymn book. Music is usually provided on the clavinova and violin - complete Singing the Faith contents are available on disk if no musician is available.

The chairs and tables can be re-arranged for any occasion, and although we are not able to offer separate creche/child facilities during services, space can be made in the body of the church for parents to supervise children’s activities. Some toys are available.

The church building is hired by several groups during the week:

Babybops; Toddlebops; Yoga; Pilates; Craft group

The successful and over-subscribed Farnsfield Preschool are long-standing tenants of the schoolrooms to the rear of the church.

On the last Saturday of the month we host a coffee morning 9.30 – 11:30 am Local voluntary groups are invited to come in turn and publicise their work in the community and all the proceeds from the morning are donated to the visiting group.

On alternate Monday afternoons, we host a ’Tea at 2’ session where anyone feeling isolated or in need of company is invited to join us for cake and a cuppa.  Transport is provided - contact Annie on 01623 472455 for further details.
